Ahead of FIFA 16’s demo release next week and full version release later this month, EA Sports on Friday night released the full list of the top 50 rated players in the game. There were some upgrades and downgrades to the players’ overall rating, but it’s no real surprise who the top two are.
FIFA cover boy and Barcelona forward Lionel Messi is the game’s top rated player while Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo is hot on his heels. Messi’s Barca team-mate Luis Suarez sinks his teeth into third place and is joined by the Bayern Munich duo of Manuel Nueur and Arjen Robben in the top five.
Only two Premier League players make the top ten list of best players in the game, with Chelsea’s Eden Hazard at sixth and Manchester City’s David Silva tenth. Only one player out of the top 50, Boca Junior’s Carlos Tevez, plays his football outside Europe, but perhaps, the biggest surprise was that the world’s most expensive football Gareth failed to break the top 20, with the Welsh wizard ranked in 23rd place.
EA Sports compiled the stats based on the last 365 days of performances in league and cup play, which is probably why only two England players, Wayne Rooney and John Terry, have made the top 50 list.
Below, from the EA Sports website, is the complete list of the best 50 players in the game with their information and attributes. FIFA 16 will be available on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Android and iOS from September 22.
